People in England LOVE food! We love to cook, bake, share our creations, eat out together, and forage for goodies at markets, events, the office, and even the train station! Eating is a way of life, and most people think we put food in, and it somehow comes out automatically in the form of waste! That’s sort of true but there’s so much MORE to how it all happens so keep reading… Most patients DON’T come in to see us because of digestive or weight issues. BUT that doesn’t mean they aren’t experiencing it. Some feel they are past the point of no return but after being adjusted many find themselves less bloated, relieved of stomach pain and discomfort, and moving their bowels a lot healthier and easier. Why? First, think of Eating as a TEAM EFFORT and you are the captain of the team! 4 things needed for the game to be won: 1. CHOOSE WISELY.Finding the right foods for YOU is as important as choosing the right players for a first-class sports team. It may require some research and experimentation so you can experience the food in action while at the same time switching them out if they are just not working.
Bio-individuality. (A term coined by the Founder of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) Joshua Rosenthal and taught to us by our own IIN Health Coach) Basically what it means is that a diet that works for one person may not benefit another. Each person and the circumstances that led them to this point in time is a factor on what is best for their digestion and nutrition absorption among other things. Bottom line, pay attention to how you feel AFTER you eat certain foods then explore options that make your body feel even better. Need help? Let us know and we’ll refer you to some great resources! 2. NEXT, CHEW WISELY. Chewing your food begins the digestive process and it starts in your mouth. The more you chew, the more you help to break down your food. Chewing also produces digestive enzymes (in your mouth via your saliva) and the stomach acid necessary to help break down the food even further so your body can decipher the nutrients and deliver it properly throughout your entire body for use. 3. HYDRATE. By hydration we mean WATER. (And only water!) It’s important to the Team Effort because insufficient hydration slows the digestion process down. Hydration also enables your body to move the waste through various organs and vessels making sure everything is functioning properly. 4. GET ADJUSTED. Your digestive tract receives messages from your nervous system and your nervous system lives in your spine. Those messages moving every second of every day are VITAL for your digestion to perform. Misalignments, even the slightest, can impact the ability of your digestive tract and can cause issues like bloating, constipation, weight gain and even poor absorption of nutrients. Over time, digestive troubles can lead to bigger issues, consistent dis-ease and even some terminal illnesses. One thing you can consistently do to help your digestive system is to get adjusted. This will ensure a foundation of good gut and overall health. The next time you cook a meal, grab a snack, or take to the local pub, remember to take your job as captain of the team seriously! If you choose wisely, chew wisely, hydrate and keep up your adjustments, you will be more assured to be healthy and well for a long time to come! To your health, Crowthorne Health and Wellness Centres
